Saltibus Falls
St. Lucia

After a strenuous descent with a pack down the slick sides of the canyon, I spent a long time in this tropical oasis in the rainforest, far off the beaten path on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia.  Since the tropical vegetation is so large, it's hard to appreciate the scale of the waterfall.  The clouds overhead were changing so rapidly that  the long exposure necessary for sheet film was difficult, but with patience I was able to time the exposure so that a thin spot in the clouds "spotlighted" the falls with warm light.
