The face of Half Dome glows with sunset fire as seen from across Yosemite Valley at the summit of North Dome.  Hardy manzanitas take root in the cracks in the granite, hugging the rock as if crouching against the wind on this exposed summit.  Getting the right composition and lighting for this shot necessitated a return hike through miles of dense forest after dark.
