Light Across the Canyon
Grand Canyon N.P., Arizona

The first rays of dawn slice through the icy haze of morning, awakening the temples of Buddha, Brahma, and Zoroaster, warming the red walls of Dana Butte, while the restless Colorado continues to churn in the gorge below.  A sliver of the river appears here, near the confluence with Bright Angel Canyon.  This final exposure is the fruit of several days spent observing the changing light in this part of the canyon.
