With this series of soft, minimal images reminiscent of color-field paintings, I have reduced the landscape to its essential elements.  My goal is to convey the meditative experience of landscape rather than a representation of the landscape itself.  For me, horizons are full of hope and possibility: springboards for the imagination. They invite quiet contemplation- an alternative vision to the media overload and frantic pace of life in the information age.  I have chosen to use a tool of that age, the camera, to create these images using standard photographic techniques, without gimmicks, in order to emphasize that we can change our lives with the tools that we already have, simply by seeing differently.
