Winter on the Lake
Crystal Lake, Michigan

Mist obscures the far shore of this Michigan lake as the sun hides behinds the haze, creating a tranquil abstraction of blue on blue, rendered through slight overexposure.  This image was part of a challenge to see the long winters of my native Midwest through new eyes.  Sometimes the simplest things are the most powerful.  I find this image often solicits a stare, and soothes me after a hectic day.
