I photograph using traditional large-format bellows cameras and do not use digital effects or artificial light.  Instead, each of my photographs of ancient Native American sites relies on reflected natural light during precise solar alignments, an effect that only lasts for a few minutes on certain days of the year.  Due to the enormous amount of research and observation required for each photograph in this series, I only make a few new images every year.  My goal is to create the sense of wonder and connection to the past I feel in the pueblos, as though each doorway passed through a generation.
